PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a data reproducing device as is capable of processing data detection based on read data without being restricted by reading processing without deteriorating the format efficiency of recorded data. SOLUTION: The data reproducing device which samples a reproducing signal from the recorded data in a recording medium synchronizing with the first clock signal and reproduces the recorded data based on the sample value has a store means for storing the sample values in order and a data detection processing means which fetches a sample value from the storage means in synchronization with the second clock signal different from the first clock signal and processes the fetched sample value in accordance with a prescribed algorithm to detect data. Thus, the data reproducing device reproduces the recorded data based on detected data obtained by the data detection processing means.
