<p>A key blank for a key with teeth cuts and a pair of coaxial active elements mounted in a shaft of the key. The pair of coaxial active elements includes first active element that protrudes from a first surface of the shaft while no force is exerted on the first active element and a second active element that protrudes from a second opposite surface of the shaft while no force is exerted on the second active element. Each of the coaxial active elements is adapted to operate independently from the other of the pair and to exert a compressive force on a pin mechanism of a corresponding lock in response to operative engagement with the pin mechanism and thereby release the pin mechanism from a locked position of the lock, regardless of a positioning or force applied on the coaxial element protruding from the opposite surface of the shaft.</p> |
