PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor position detector capable of increasing the reliability by calculating service life information while extending the service life by controlling the drive current for a light emitting device. ! SOLUTION: When an allowable current value is exceeded, a light quantity control section 4 of a light emitting device 1 controls a drive current 4A. When the drive current is controlled, a service life calculation section 10 calculates remaining lifetime based on the drive current and the allowable current value. When the drive current is not controlled, a remaining lifetime which is calculated based on initial information 10B and a signal correction amount 7B, a warning signal which is output when the remaining lifetime is smaller than a service life alarm value, and an error signal which is output when the remaining lifetime is smaller than a service life limit value are output as service life information 10A. !
