A hand held appliance such as a hair care appliance comprises a body 30 and a handle 20. The handle 20 has a first end in fluid communication with the body 30 and a second end comprising a primary fluid inlet 40 into the appliance, wherein the primary fluid inlet 40 comprises a first aperture 42 extending at least partially around the handle 20 and a second aperture 46 extending through the end of the handle 20. The handle 20 may comprise an end wall 210 which may substantially orthogonal to the handle 20. The second aperture 46 preferably extends through the end wall 210. The first aperture 42 may be adjacent the second end of the handle 20. The handle 20 may include a fan unit (70, fig.3) for drawing fluid into the primary fluid inlet 40. The first aperture 42 may comprise a plurality of apertures extending at least partially around and along the handle 20. The second aperture 46 may comprise a plurality of apertures extending through the end of the handle 20. |
