A satellite tracking antenna system and a satellite tracking method are provided to increase an operation reaction speed by properly performing gyro tracking and hybrid tracking according to intensity of a signal received from a satellite. A satellite tracking antenna system includes an antenna(10), a gyro sensor unit(51-53), a control unit(50), and an antenna driving unit. The antenna receives a satellite signal. The gyro sensor unit senses variations of rolling, pitching, and yawing of the antenna. The control unit generates a control signal to compensate for variations of a bearing angle and a wave angle of the antenna according to intensity of the satellite signal and the variations of the rolling, the pitching, and the yawing sensed by the gyro sensor unit. The antenna driving unit rotates the bearing angle and the wave angle of the antenna at a predetermined angle according to the control signal.
