The present invention relates to a device for displaying a three-dimensional image and a method for manufacturing the same and, more particularly, to a device for displaying a three-dimensional image, which has a black stripe (BS) formed on the upper end surface of a pattern retarder to increase a vertical viewing angle when a user watches a three-dimensional image using polarized glasses and transmit a predetermined amount of light when the user watches a two-dimensional image without wearing the polarized glasses, and to a method for manufacturing the same. To this end, the device for displaying a three-dimensional image according to the present invention comprises: an image panel to output an image, an upper polarizing plate bonded to the upper end surface of the image panel; a pattern retarder having left eye pattern retarders and right eye pattern retarders corresponding to left eye pixels and right eye pixels formed on the image panel and bonded to the upper end surface of the upper polarizing plate; and a plurality of BSs formed in the boundary part of the left eye pattern retarder and the right eye pattern retarder to transmit some of light output from the image panel and passing through the pattern retarder. |
