The compensation value producing unit produces compensation gradation based on the brightness of pixels of a display panel. The compensation unit produces a data signal by compensating input gradation based on the compensation gradation when the input gradation of the pixel exceeds standard gradation. Therefore, the display quality of the display device can be improved.
