PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stimulus-responsive polymers ("Smart" polymers) for purification of biomolecules.SOLUTION: A soluble stimulus-responsive polymer is selected from a group consisting of benzyl modified polyallylamine, hexanoic acid, benzyl modified polyethylimine, benzyl modified polyvinylamine etc. Upon application of a multivalent ion stimulus selected from phosphate and citrate, the polymer can bind and precipitate a target biomolecule in a sample. |
