<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion system enabling sufficient cooling of circuit components, such as a capacitor and a power module, in a simple and small configuration and an electric drive vehicle using the electric power conversion system. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric power conversion system 3, power modules 21, 22 having at least switching elements and converting DC power to AC power and a plurality of capacitors 26, 27 smoothing the DC power are disposed within a case body 6 having a sealed structure. The case body 6 comprises: two divided division case bodies 6L, 6H; and a flat plate-shaped liquid-cooled heat sink 7 interposed between the two division case bodies 6L, 6H to close division faces of the two division case bodies 6L, 6H and mounted with the power modules 21, 22.
