<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that noise is tended not to be able to be sufficiently eliminated in the case of the conventional method for processing the entire image with one noise detection threshold from an image with impulsive noise superposed thereon.SOLUTION: A noise elimination program using image division of this invention calculates a value of an output image from a pre-processor 10 for performing a series of processing from edge extraction processing for extracting an edge component from an input image, and image division processing for uniformly dividing an input image to threshold setting processing for determining a strength amount of an edge about each division image with a threshold Eth, and calculating a threshold Dth for noise detection, a noise detector 20 for determining whether a processing object pixel is impulsive noise with a value calculated from the processing object pixel and a vicinity pixel and the threshold Dth for noise detection, a first restoration device 30 for restoring the processing object pixel by a median filter when the noise detector 20 determines that the processing object pixel is noise, and a second restoration 40 for performing averaging processing for further enhancing the accuracy of a pixel value of a restoration image obtained from each detection direction.</p> |
