PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not a panel configuring a vehicle body outer panel of an automobile as a determination target is re-coated only by measuring the coating film thickness of the panel, and to make it unnecessary to refer to the coating film thickness of the panel which has not been re-coated in the case of determination.SOLUTION: The method for determining the presence/absence of vehicle body recoating includes: calculating measured values (a1 to a3)(b1 to b3)(c1 to c3) of coating film thickness at a plurality of places of panels A, B and C; calculating a reference value (S) equal to an arithmetic mean value; determining a fixed upper limit value (L1) or lower limit value (L2) larger than the reference value (S); comparing the measured values with the upper limit value (L1) or the lower limit value (L2); and determining the presence/absence of the recoating of the panel on the basis of the result of determination of whether or not any value larger than the upper limit value (L1) is included in the measured values or whether or not any value smaller than the lower limit value (L2) is included in the measured values. |
