PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compounds in high yield at a long catalytic life, by reacting a tertiary alcohol catalytically with molecular oxygen in the vapor phase at a high temperature in the presence of a catalyst containing an Mo- Bi-Fe-Co system and further Cs and V or Pd in combination. CONSTITUTION:Tertiary butyl alcohol is catalytically reacted with molecular oxygen in the vapor phase at a high temperature in the presence of a catalyst expressed by the general composition formula (X is V and/or Pd; (a-g) represent the number of atoms, (b) is 2-12; (c) is 0.5-7; (d) is 0.1-5; (e) is 0.0005- 0.5; (f) is 0.01-2 when (a) is fixed at 12; (g) is a numerical value determined by the valences of the respective elements, and usually 78-142), preferably at 300-450 deg.C for a contact time of 0.5-15sec to give the aimed compounds. The catalyst is easily prepared by a well-known preparing method of an oxidation catalyst, and preferably calcined at a temperature of 650-750 deg.C, which is higher than that in the conventional method, in the final stage for 2-10hr. |
