摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure and investigate a form of a three-dimensional measurement object by a laser scanner.SOLUTION: In a form investigation method for a three-dimensional measurement object, a laser scanner irradiates an investigation target tree and a ground surface with a laser, acquires each point of a lot of reflection points of the laser as a point converted into three-dimensional coordinates, analyzes point group data on a computer when a group of points converted into the three-dimensional coordinates acquired like above is called the point group data, sets one of a high rank point having a highest height of the point group data about one tree and a low rank point having a lowest height as a start point, sets the other as an end point of the tree, surrounds and divides the whole point group of the tree by a plurality of boxes each having unit size, selects each box having a shortest distance from a straight line connecting the start point and the end point of the tree, and distinguishes that an object obtained by connecting the respective selected boxes in turn is a trunk of the tree.</p>
