A plate heat exchanger comprises a plurality of heat exchanger plates (1). Each plate defines a longitudinal centre line (x) and includes a heat transfer area (20) comprising ridges (27) and valleys (27'). The ridges of one of the plates abut the valleys of an adjoining one of the plates to form a plurality of joining areas (28, 29). Each of the ridges and valleys has a V-shaped configuration with a first part (31 ) forming a positive angle with the centre line, a second part (32) forming a corresponding negative angle with the centre line, and a connection part (33) connecting the first part and the second part and extending along a curved path (35). Each connection part includes a projection (34) extending along the centre line outwardly from the curved path. The projections form a respective central joining area (29) at the centre line. |
