PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method of catalyst particle in a membrane/electrode assembly.SOLUTION: In an inspection method of catalyst particle in a membrane/electrode assembly, a membrane/electrode assembly including (A) a cathode electrode having an anode electrode on one side of a polymer electrolyte membrane, and at least a cathode catalyst layer on the other side, where (B) the cathode catalyst layer at least contains palladium-containing particles and catalyst particles including a platinum outermost layer covering the palladium-containing particles, is prepared as the membrane/electrode assembly, the open circuit voltage of the membrane/electrode assembly is measured in a state where the anode electrode is under a hydrogen atmosphere, and the cathode electrode is under a nitrogen atmosphere, and then the deterioration state of the catalyst particles is determined from the open circuit voltage. |
