WDM SIGNAL OPTICAL REPEATING DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM signal optical repeating device capable of compensating for a change of a light intensity with inclination compensation of an inter-signal Raman gain.SOLUTION: The WDM signal optical repeating device comprises: (1) an inclination compensation section for giving arbitrary inclination to WDM signal light; (2) a level compensation section for giving arbitrary loss or gain to the WDM signal light; (3) a reference information storage section for storing monitor values of an inclination amount of an optical spectrum of the WDM signal light and a reception strength of monitoring light different from the WDM signal light as reference values at a normal time; (4) a control section which controls the inclination amount to be given so as to cancel the inclination amount monitored by an inclination monitor; (5) an intensity change estimation section for calculating the amount of intensity change of the WDM signal light by calculating the amounts of changes from the reference values for the inclination amount monitored by the inclination monitor and the reception strength monitored by a monitoring light monitor; and (6) a level control section for controlling the loss or gain of the level compensation section so as to cancel the calculated amount of intensity change.
