The present invention concerns a fuel cell (10) comprising an anode monopolar plate (12) configured to deliver a gas to an active portion (13) of one of the faces thereof, an electrode membrane assembly (16) disposed with a first face on said active portion (13), a cathode monopolar plate (12) configured to deliver a gas to an active portion (13) of one of the faces thereof, said active portion being disposed on the second face of said electrode membrane assembly (16), said monopolar plates (12) each comprising, apart from said active portion, a gas supply inlet (14). It further comprises a distribution seal (18) disposed against each of said monopolar plates (12), around said gas supply inlet (14), and on the opposing face of the active portion (13), and said monopolar plates (12) comprise openings (15) opening into the face opposite said active portion (13), said distribution seal (18) and said openings (15) being configured such that said gas is channelled to the face opposite the active portion (13) of said gas supply inlet (14), to the openings (15), and from there to the active portion (13). |
