PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw machine, a method and a processing apparatus for processing a bulk material.SOLUTION: A processing apparatus for processing a bulk material has a vacuum filter insert (32) for degassing a bulk material. The vacuum filter insert (32) is arranged in a casing of a screw machine located in the downstream of a supply opening part and provided with at least one filter element. The vacuum filter insert (32) forms a gas-permeable wall part (76) demarcating at least one casing hole of the screw machine. In the view in a degassing direction (75), a protection element (63) provided with a plurality of through opening parts (74) is arranged in the upstream of at least one filter element. The protection element (63) functions as a granule protection for at least one filter element and prevents the granular bulk material from damaging at least one filter element. The configuration extends the lifetime of the vacuum filter insert (32) and secures a long operation time of the processing apparatus without interception. |
