PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to ensure accuracy of axial distance between an image carrier gear and an image carrier drive gear without requiring a complicated mechanism, such as a coupling, or assembling by means of a jig.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a process cartridge which integrally supports an image carrier and an image carrier gear for transmitting rotation driving force to the image carrier and rotating around a rotation shaft, and is detachable from an image forming apparatus body; and a drive unit comprising an image carrier drive gear which transmits rotation driving force to the image carrier gear and an engaging image carrier gear and rotates around the rotation shaft, and a drive source which rotates the image carrier via the image carrier gear and the image carrier drive gear. The process cartridge is positioned by an image carrier drive gear shaft holding member which holds the rotation shaft of the image carrier drive gear arranged in the drive unit. |
