<p>Provided are: production of a polycarbonate resin which has excellent characteristics such as transparency, heat resistance, mechanical strength and impact resistance, while having a good color tone; and a polycarbonate resin composition which contains the polycarbonate resin. A method for producing a polycarbonate resin, wherein a carbonic acid diester and a dihydroxy compound are subjected to a polycondensation reaction in the presence of a transesterification catalyst. This method for producing a polycarbonate resin is characterized in that the transesterification catalyst contains a phosphorus compound represented by general formula (1) and/or (2) and at least one basic compound that is selected from the group consisting of compounds of the group 1 elements of the long form periodic table (excluding hydrogen), compounds of the group 2 elements of the long form periodic table, basic boron compounds, basic phosphorus compounds and nitrogen-containing basic compounds.</p> |
