an image capturing unit configured to capture an image of a subject; a storage unit configured to store associated information related to an image with at least one effect to be applied to an image; and circuitry configured to
detect or receive information related to the image captured by the image capturing unit,select an effect stored in the storage unit based on the detected or received information related to the image, andapply the selected effect within an area of the captured image, wherein the circuitry performs control to add a decoration image within the area of the captured image as the effect, and the decoration image is added to the captured image at a part of the image having brightness with a value equal to or higher than a specified value.
