The present invention relates to a method to manufacture a porous material having a plurality of air gaps using the effects of a liquid rope coil of which a coil shape is formed when a viscous material is dropped from a certain height. The present invention provides a method to manufacture a porous material using the effects of the liquid rope coil which comprises the steps of: (a) arranging a nozzle and a casting frame in a location separated downwardly from the nozzle; (b) heating a porous material and melting the same; (c) supplying the material molten in step (b) to the nozzle; (d) making the molten material have a porous structure wherein air gaps are formed therein by the effects of the liquid rope coil by dropping the molten material to the casting frame through the nozzle; and (e) acquiring a porous material by cooling the material having the porous structure through step (d).
