PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for smoothing a gear engagement of an information processing slide motion device in which a tooth defect preventing function of a rack gear or a pinion gear is realized for a long period of time.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a mechanism for smoothing a gear engagement of an information processing slide motion device having a slide moving body 6 that is constituted such that it has a contact pin unit arranged at an outside position of gear row at a rack 4, the contact pin biased by a spring force is protruded in the same direction as that of the rack gear. When one of pinion gear of pinions 16 approaches the rack gear at the end part in the rack 4 as the information processing slide moving body 6 slides toward the rack, a pinion gear before a pinion advancing direction that is a pinon gear adjacent to one pinion gear is resiliently struck against the contact pin to cause the adjoining pinion gear to be slightly rotated and the pinion 16 is smoothly engaged with the rack 4 while avoiding mutual corrosion of teeth tips of one pinion gear and the rack gear at the end part in the rack 4.
