The present invention relates to a defrost system using vacuum pressure which detects inner vacuum pressure changing in accordance with the amount of ice or frost formed in a unit cooler evaporator of a freezer or a refrigerator for efficient defrosting. The defrost system mounts a vacuum pressure sensor or a pressure difference switch on a unit cooler to measure inner vacuum pressure or pressure difference changing in accordance with the amount of ice or frost formed in an evaporator in order to operate a defrost heater to remove the frost or ice if the pressure is higher than normal vacuum pressure of the unit cooler or a predetermined amount of pressure difference is occurred, and to block power of the defrost heater if the pressure is lowered or the pressure difference is reduced. Therefore, more efficient and stable defrosting is possible; energy is saved; and a lifespan of a heater rod is increased. |
