<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type image display device in which the change of the brightness of image light caused by the change of the brightness of a light source is suppressed, when the light source is driven with a periodically changed driving power.SOLUTION: A projection type image display device 1 which is a projection type image display device 1 converting an inputted video signal into the image light and projecting it includes a light source 5, a light modulation element 3 modulating light emitted by the light source 5 and forming the image light, a light modulation element driving part 10 driving the light modulation element 3, a light source driving part 4 driving the light source 5, a driving power detection part 6 detecting the driving power value of the light source 5, a correction amount acquisition part 7 acquiring a signal level correction amount for correcting the change of the brightness of the image light caused by the change of the driving power value, and a video signal correction part 2 correcting the signal level of the video signal, based on the signal level correction amount, to input the signal level to the light modulation element driving part 10.</p> |
