Systems and methods for providing notifications to a user include a first computing device associated with a user and having one or more event indicators that present notifications of events to a user, a second computing device in wireless communication with the first computing device, the second computing device including information about a current status of the user; and a notification filtering engine in communication with the first computing device to modify the notifications of the events presented by the first computing device in response to the current status of the user.
