PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide kraft paper with excellent suitability for bag making, having high strength and an excellent printability accomplished by suppressing degradation of printing surface due to void, and causing less breakage of the bottom or back, even in the case in which the main raw material is raw material pulp including waste paper pulp. SOLUTION: The kraft paper is mainly composed of raw material pulp including waste paper pulp and kraft pulp, contains gelatinized rice starch, and the ash content is 4.0 mass% or less.
