A health monitoring and indication (HMI) system 1 for intermittent fault detection (IFD) test equipment 2 monitors, records and displays the IFD circuit boards' voltage and environmental parameters, e.g. temperature and humidity, that are necessary for correct functioning of the IFD test equipment 2. The HMI system 1 compares the voltage and environment inputs with stored baseline values in a memory 11 to provide a continuous visual indication of the test equipment's serviceability. Each parameter can be displayed on the IFD test equipment's screen 13 or can be downloaded via an external USB connection 15. Different colours may be used to indicate that the monitored parameters are normal, abnormal or, whilst normal at present, have been abnormal during the monitoring. A digital heartbeat signal 8 may also be monitored to check that the IFD is operating during the monitoring. |
