A mobile terminal and a short-range wireless communication method thereof are provided to automatically activate a short-range wireless communication mode according to an opening action of a folder or a slide or input of a particular key or touch input, thereby reducing power consumption. A controller periodically detects the current time(S101). The controller compares whether the detected time belongs to a set activation time slot(S102). If so, the controller activates a short-range wireless communication function(S103,S104). If the current time is out of the activation time, the controller inactivates the short-range wireless communication function. The short-range wireless communication function can be activated by repeatedly applying plural additional conditions except a condition by the time. |
