Methods preparing a personal care substance in fluid form from gemstones or gold. The gemstones or gold are comminuted and dissolved. Solvent is removed by distillation, leaving an oily residue usable in the personal care substance. The personal care substance may include fulvates and humates, or dissolved gold. comminuting and calcining a gemstone; forming a tincture from the comminuted and calcined gemstone by adding an alcohol solvent; and removing the alcohol solvent by distillation, thereby leaving a liquid thicker than the solvent.
