<p>The present invention provides a cathode active material for a magnesium secondary battery which is represented by the chemical formula: MgxMnySiO4 (1<=x<=1.2, 0.8<=y<=1.0) and has the surface thereof coated with carbon. The cathode active material for a magnesium secondary battery according to the present invention has the surface coated with carbon in order to inhibit the growth of particles and form uniform particles, has a high surface area to facilitate the movement of ions between the particles and improve electroconductivity, and improves the initial capacity and high-rate properties of a magnesium secondary battery by improving the structural stability of an electrode including the cathode active material for a magnesium secondary battery.</p> |
