PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the distribution of charging materials in the furnace diameter direction in mixed charging of blast furnace charging materials different in grain size and density from the raw material by reducing variation of discharging of the charging materials from the furnace top hopper, in a bell-less blast furnace.SOLUTION: In mixing sintered ore with one or more charging materials different in density and grain size from the sintered ore and charging the resultant mixture in a bell-less blast furnace, the grain size ratio (D) and the density ratio (P) of one charging material to the sintered ore meet the equation (1): 0.65≤D/P≤1.35, where D=(grain diameter of one charging material)/(grain diameter of sintered ore) and P=(density of one charging material)/(density of sintered ore). |
