<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for charing coal into a coke oven which can suppress or further prevent gas leakage from a coal charge port even when the pressure of a carbonization chamber rises early.SOLUTION: A coal charging apparatus 10 has a coal charging function of charging coal into a plurality coke oven chambers 11 provided in a coke oven 12 through coal charge ports 15 and an oven-upper cleaning function of cleaning the oven upper of the coke oven chambers 11 including the coal charge ports 15. After coal is charged from the coal charge ports 15 into the coke oven chambers 11 by a coal charging car 13 moving on the coke oven 12, the oven upper of the carbonization chambers 11 is cleaned. In charging coal from the coal charge ports 15 into the coke oven chambers 15, the inside of the coke oven chambers 11 is switched from a positive-pressure condition to a negative-pressure condition, and after charging of coal into the coke oven chambers 11 as well, the negative-pressure condition of the coke oven chambers 11 is kept. After completion of cleaning of the oven upper of the coke oven chambers 11, the inside of the coke oven chambers 11 are switched from the negative-pressure condition to the positive-pressure condition. The coal charging apparatus 10 is based on the method.</p> |
