PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision mitigation device for a vehicle that mitigates damage when an own vehicle is in collision, which allows timing for starting a control to be appropriately set according to a situation.SOLUTION: A collision mitigation controller detects an object positioned around an own vehicle and operates a controlled object 40 for mitigating damage when the own vehicle is in collision according to a comparison result by comparing collision time TTC until the own vehicle collides the object with operation reference time TTC_th previously set as timing for executing a control for avoiding collision of the own vehicle with the object (S220-S250). The collision mitigation controller 10 arithmetically calculates probability of collision of the own vehicle with the object (S140), and sets the operation reference time TTC_th according to the probability of collision (S180 and S190). This allows the operation reference time TTC_th to be set according to the probability of collision so that timing for starting the control can be appropriately set according to a situation between the own vehicle and the object. |
