PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration type actuator that can configure means for generating pressure between a vibrator and a rotating body simply at low costs, and has few constraints on the rotating body to be rotated.SOLUTION: A vibration type actuator 170 having a plate-like member 172 with a piezoelectric element 174 fixed thereto and driving the piezoelectric element 174 to rotate a rotating body 161 to which the plate-like member 172 is brought into contact, is configured as follows: the plate-like member 172 is composed of a metallic material having elasticity such as duralumin and is provided with a through-hole part 175; the through-hole part 175 is provided with two protrusions 173 that are in contact with the rotating body 161 that is arranged in the through-hole part 175 with the rotation shaft in a posture parallel with the thickness direction of the plate-like member 172; the protrusions 173 are applied with pressure toward the rotation shaft of the rotating body 161 by an elastic force due to the elastic deformation of the plate-like member 172, and is moved along an elliptical locus by the drive of the piezoelectric element 174.
