Provided are: an ink composition for a writing utensil, said ink composition exhibiting good solution of a coloring material in an ink solvent, being not susceptible to causing the bleeding or feathering of a drawn line, and having improved water resistance; and a coloring material. Examples of the coloring material include materials obtained by adding at least one selected from among leuco dyes, halochromic dyes and photochromic compounds to a compound represented by formula (I). The ink composition is characterized by containing the coloring material. |
