The present invention relates to a composition comprising AMD3100 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof for preventing or treating bone diseases. AMD3100 according to the present invention can effectively prevent or treat of bone diseases by increasing the SDF-1 level in the blood, inducing mobilization of hematopoeitic stem/progenitor cell (HSPC) from the bone to the blood, and reducing the deposition of osteoclast on the bone marrow.
