A handle tie apparatus (1) connects two or more operating handles (25,26) of two or more electrical switching assemblies (21,22) for simultaneous operation of the operating handles, such as switching from an "on" position to an "off" position. The handle tie apparatus includes apertures (14) formed therein for receiving the operating handles and slots (16) having barbs (18) configured therein for mechanically engaging and securing the operating handles in the handle tie apparatus.
