PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an active material for battery use which enables the achievement of a battery superior in capacity; a nonaqueous electrolyte battery arranged by use such an active material; and a battery pack including such a battery.SOLUTION: An active material for battery use comprises active material particles including a compound expressed by the general formula, TiM1NbM2O. [In the formula, x satisfies the condition of 0≤x<1; M1 and M2 each represent at least one element selected from a group consisting of Nb, V, Ta, Fe, Ti, Bi, Sb, As, P, Cr, Mo, W, B, Na, Mg, Al and Si. A diagram of X-ray diffraction by means of Cu-Kα rays shows a peak A arising at 2&thetas;=23.74-24.14° and originating from (110) plane, a peak B arising at 2&thetas;=25.81-26.21° and originating from (003) plane, and a peak C arising at 2&thetas;=26.12-26.54° and originating from (-602) plane. The intensity Iof the peak A, the intensity Iof the peak B, and the intensity Iof the peak C satisfy the following relational expressions: 0.80≤I/I≤1.12(2); and I/I≤0.80(2).] |
