PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fundamental therapeutic agent for narcolepsy or eating disorder.SOLUTION: A therapeutic agent for narcolepsy or eating disorder contains N-acetyl-D-mannosamine and is based on the induction of an in vivo orexin neuron, wherein the induction of orexin neurone is preferred to be performed in a lateral hypothalamic field. As a representative example of eating disorder, anorexia nervosa is mentioned.
