<p>A flexible tube, for an exhaust pipe of an automobile (vehicle), includes a metal cylindrical bellows member 10 having a plurality of corrugations, an interlocking member 20 spaced within the bellows member and having a spiral groove, a braid member 30 surrounding the outside of the bellows member, cap members 40 which fix the braid member on the outside of each end of the bellows member 10, and ring-shaped intermediate members 50 each having one end fixed to the bellows member and the other end fixed to, and inwardly overlapping, the interlocking member. The bellows member has a centre part C and two end parts U, wherein the corrugations in the centre part have an inner diameter which is larger than the inner diameter of the corrugations in each end part. The centre part of the bellows member may include reinforcement sections which have corrugations of reduced inner and outer diameter, and which are uniformly repeated.</p> |
