PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic sensor including compact piezoelectric elements arranged densely while improving machining accuracy and alignment property of piezoelectric elements which are conventionally arranged one by one by hand and brazed on a front metal plate. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic sensor includes a block 3 made of backing material, and a piezoelectric body 7 made of piezoelectric material to have predetermined thickness and bonded to the front of the block 3. The piezoelectric body 7 bonded to the block 3 has a slit to divide the piezoelectric body 7 into a plurality of piezoelectric elements 7a and to form, in the block 3, a plurality of through-holes 15 as a conducting path to each of the plurality of piezoelectric elements 7a.
