A drip-retaining collar for a bottle

Disclosed are drip retaining collar (2) for a bottle and a product comprising a bottle having a drip retaining collar (2) mounted thereon. The disclosure notes that the drip retaining collar (2) sits on the neck of a bottle and aids in preventing staining of underlying surfaces when residual drops of liquid drip from the bottle after pouring. The drip retaining collar (2) comprises an annular drip collecting trough (10) arranged to collect drips running down the neck of the bottle. The annular trough (10) is partitioned into compartments (14). Each compartment (14) is sized and configured so that it can retain drips of liquid when the collar (2) is inverted. The drip retaining collar (2) further comprises a downwardly depending portion in the form of a skirt (4) which flared towards a lower end. The drip retaining collar (2) is moulded from a plastics material.
