PURPOSE: To produce steam usable for, for example, power generation, etc., by taking out geothermal brine from an underground aquifer and, after separating non-condensable gases from the brine, flashing the brine. CONSTITUTION: Geothermal brine containing water, non-condensable gases, and toxic elements is taken out from a well drilled into an underground aquifer and brine containing no condensable gas is produced by separating the non- condensable gases from the brine. The non-condensable gases are handled separately from the brine containing no non-condensable gas. Then, steam and air-free flashed brine are produced by flashing the brine containing no non- condensable gas and the flashed brine is prevented from coming into contact with the air by establishing an air-free flashed brine handling system. The flashed brine is divided into sludge and clear brine and the clear brine is reinjected into the underground aquifer. Non-toxic solid materials are produced from the sludge by removing the dissolved toxic elements by cleaning the sludge. |
