PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire that enables an operator to satisfactorily feel both of a resistance received from a lesion part when the guide wire is pushed in and a resistance received from the lesion part when the guide wire is rotated.SOLUTION: On the surface of the distal end chip 30 of the guide wire 1, a plurality of projections are provided which are rectangular or elliptical shapes in the plane view, with their longitudinal directions set to cross each other. As a result, a resistance received from a lesion part when the guide wire 1 is pushed in and a resistance received from the lesion part when the guide wire 1 is rotated are both made susceptible to the surface of the distal end chip 30. Thus, these resistances become more perceptible to the operator, facilitating search of a suitable route even if vascular travel is obscure, and facilitating passage of the guide wire 1 to the lesion part. |
