PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening/closing timing controller capable of preventing oil leakage from a gap between members constituting a drive-side rotational body or the like while maintaining the wear resistance and lubricity of a slide surface of a housing main body.SOLUTION: A valve opening/closing controller comprises: a drive-side rotational body 1 including a housing main body 6 having an opening open at least to one side in a direction along a rotational shaft center X and a cover plate 4 abutting on an opening end surface 25 of the opening and closing the opening, and rotating synchronously with a crankshaft E1; and a driven-side rotational body 3 included in the drive-side rotational body 1, and rotating integrally with a cam shaft 2 to be concentric with the rotational shaft center X while forming a space serving as an advance chamber or a delay chamber between the driven-side rotational body and an inner circumferential surface 26 of the housing main body 6. In the housing main body 6, a hard layer 30 is formed on at least an inner circumferential surface that is a surface excluding the opening end surface 25.
