A lock mechanism that is capable of locking and unlocking the rotation of a rotor shaft (12) of an electric motor (11) is formed with: a plurality of locking holes (41) provided in the circumferential direction of a side surface of one gear (33) among a plurality of gears that form a gear reduction mechanism (13); a lock pin (42) provided so as to enable advancing and retreating in relation to the locking holes (41) in order to engage with the locking holes (41) when the gear (33) is advanced and locked; and a linear solenoid (43) for causing the lock pin (42) to advance and retreat. End surfaces of a plunger (49) and the lock pin (42) as separate components in the linear solenoid (43) are disposed on the same shaft facing each other in the axial direction, and the momentum loaded from the locked gear (33) onto the lock pin (42) is not loaded onto the plunger (49), preventing damage to the inside diameter surface of a bobbin (48) for slidably supporting the plunger (49). The lock pin (42) is formed of a non-magnetic material so that magnetism from a magnetic circuit formed between a coil (47) of the linear solenoid (43) and the plunger (49) is prevented from leaking from the lock pin (42), and the plunger (49) is reliably subjected to adsorption transfer due to electrification with the coil (47) whereby reliability of the locking movement is improved. |
