PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device and a control method therefor, capable of preventing a modified parameter from being applied to an unintended frame if the parameter of a frame operation function is modified at arbitrary timing.SOLUTION: In a layer-2 frame transfer device, when a plurality of parameters belonging to each frame operation function are modified on the basis of each logical port in a pipeline processing circuit having two or more frame operation functions connected in series, the pipeline processing circuits are disposed in parallel to apply to an input frame after arbitrary timing, and further, a switch shared to the input units thereof is disposed.
