<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry type drilling device with improved cooling efficiency and a dry type drilling method. <P>SOLUTION: The dry type drilling device 100 includes a bit 100a having a cylindrical shank 110 and a blade part 120 at the edge, a hopper 12 for continuously supplying granular carbon dioxide C from inside of the shank 110 to the blade part 120, and a vacuum generator 20, etc. The bit 100a performs drilling of an object W to be drilled while continuously emitting, from the blade part 120, the granular carbon dioxide C supplied by the hopper 12, the vacuum generator 20, etc. The cooling efficiency can be improved by using a solid carbon dioxide as a refrigerant.
