A process for containing at least a target gas in a flowing gas mixture within a defined area (5) by use of at least a pair of target gas capture (6,7,8) and release (2,3,4) sections in fluid communication with one another. Each pair of capture and release sections has a high surface area medium and a fluid contained therein and include a fluid entry point at a first end and a collection tank at a second end. The process comprises the steps of: directing a gas mixture through a flow path, to direct the gas mixture through the target gas release section followed by the target gas capture section. The fluid contained within the pair of capture and release sections allows for the target gas/es to be contained within a defined area between the target gas capture and release sections. The fluid is directed through a recirculation path, that directs the fluid from said collection tank of the target gas capture section to the entry point of the target gas release section and from the collection tank of the target gas release section to the entry point of the target gas capture section, thereby recycling the fluid. The pair of capture and release sections include a concentration gradient of at least one of the target gas and the fluid. Advantageously the process may be utilised to control humidity levels in buildings or machines. |
